Bites Nearby: This Guy's Pizza

Every week, we'll take a look at a locally-owned eatery.

Sometimes you want just a sandwich. However, there is nothing “just” about This Guy’s Pizza’s The Frenchman sandwich.

Really, this is everything I could want in a sandwich. It’s hearty, it’s creative and has a secret sauce on it that compliments it perfectly.

Built upon a hearty 12” sub roll are heaped amounts of chicken, bacon, onions, ham and cheese. The Frenchman sandwich ($6.99) has a sauce poured on it is not an au jus like with a French dip, but a combination of sweet and tangy flavor that works well with the onions and the chicken especially.

As a side, because I was obviously watching my calories, I ordered some onion rings ($3.99) with their famous Buff-A-Q sauce, a clever hybrid of buffalo and barbecue sauce, which is quite tasty.

The only minor drawback is that I am unimpressed with the onion rings. I much prefer the fish-chic, beer battered onion rings that you would commonly see in a diner or local venue like this.
