When Is the First Day of School in Johnston?
Johnston schools are scheduled to begin on Aug. 29.
Students in the Johnston School District are scheduled to start the 2013-14 school year on Aug. 29.
According to information posted on the district's website, teacher orientation is set for Aug. 23, with two professional days on Aug. 26 and 27, and a staff development day on Aug. 28.
The district has also posted literacy and math packets online for grade-schoolers to use in getting ready for the new school year — click here for the list of summer packets.
And for parents whose kids are attending private schools and need textbooks, the district has this page with contact information and a note that the textbook center is now at Calef School on Waveland Street.
