Police: Johnston Teen "Doesn't Know Why" He Shot at Neighbor's House
A Birchwood Drive woman was scared for her life when she heard popping noises and the sound of projectiles hitting her house.
A Johnston teenager is facing charges of firing in a compact area and vandalism after he allegedly fired several BBs across the street towards his neighbor's house on Saturday night, causing a woman to crouch down on the floor in panic as she heard pops, clicking noises, breaking glass and and more pops fired, according to a police report.
Police were dispatched after the call at 11:50 p.m. and found Richard P. DiFonzo Jr., 19, of 18 Birchwood Drive, reportedly standing outside the patio behind the house at 20 Birchwood Drive.
Along with a broken window and damage to the side of the victim's house, Officers found a loaded black Daisy .177 rifle hidden under a bush in the back yard of 20 Birchwood Drive. Police noted the gun was found in the far right corner of the backyard — in close proximity to where DiFonzo was standing.
