Reply$2000. a month for rent???
These apartments would end up being a subsidize housing project. The owners would benefit by getting a huge discount on the tax bill from RI Housing.
Cranston taxpayers would pick up the tab for all the increased services needed to take care of all the new renters. -

ReplyColleen- The real discussion is never about a pageants, ethnic celebrations, diverse culture, skin color, melting pot, etc. The underlying smoldering issue is legal and illegal immigration.

Reply??? If they are American citizens why not enter the Miss RI contest? Is the contest conducted in Spanish or English? If I am Italian and speak Spanish can I enter? If I don't speak Spanish can I enter? How many Miss RI's do we have? (I guess there is always room for one more)

ReplyGod bless our Vets. So glad they will be getting special housing.
The grant was for $1.3 million dollars. One would think a lot more than two buildings could be renovated. Why was this renovation so expensive? -

“This is, by no means, a panacea, but it will give some measure of relief to most Woonsocket taxpayers,” she said.
The state law for affordable low-income housing is 10%. Woonsocket is now at 17%. Yet when the mayor tried to reduce this number to 12% his request was denied by RI Housing.
A RELIEF to the taxpayer would be to get our city to what the law requires. 10% would a panacea for Woonsocket.
