RISP Violent Crimes Unit Nabs Johnston Man on Court Warrant

Members of the Rhode Island State Police Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested a Johnston man Tuesday on an active warrant issued by Providence Superior Court. Vincent Ricci, 34, of 47 Morgan Ave., failed to appear at a Nov. 19 payment review hearing stemming from his 2008 plea of no contest to a felony charge of obtaining money under false pretenses brought by officers from the Rhode Island State Police Lincoln Woods Barracks, according to online court records. Three felony counts of credit card fraud and one charge each of identity fraud and larceny were dismissed, and Judge Mark Pfeiffer sentenced Ricci to a five-year suspended sentence and 10 years' probation as part of the plea deal.
