Welcome to Aug. 13, 2012, Victory Day in Rhode Island. Here are your 5 Things to Know Today.
1. Victory Day: Some of the older Rhode Islanders will remember when we called today's holiday "V-J Day," referring to the Allied victory over Japan in World War II. A few years back, the state legislature changed the name to "Victory Day," and it seems that the whole time, there's been a debate about the name. Post Your Pics: Be sure to share your Fourth of July memories on our community gallery — it's super-easy to upload your photos and videos.
