Man Named Law Runs Afoul Of Law

Johnston Police charged a Simmonsville Avenue resident with multiple domestic violence charges after he allegedly assaulted his ex-girlfriend.

Johnston Police charged David Law, 26, of 345 Simmonsville Ave., with felony domestic assault, misdemeanor domestic disorderly conduct, and driving with a suspended or expired license after he was arrested by Rhode Island State Police on Feb. 24. According to police records, Law allegedly assaulted his ex-girlfriend while she was driving him to his cousin’s house on Feb. 10. The victim told Ptlm. Michael Protano that they were arguing in the car when Law allegedly struck the side of her head with his elbow and then used a closed fist to repeatedly punch the side of her head. NK Man Charged With Second No-Contact Order Violation

Johnston police reported the Feb. 11 arrest of William Andreozzi of North Kingstown.

Johnston Police charged William G. Andreozzi, 39, of 188 Sylvan Court, North Kingstown, with one count of misdemeanor violation of a no-contact order on Feb. 11. According to police reports, Andreozzi’s ex-wife told Sgt. Mark Vieira that Andreozzi contacted her by phone and told her he saw a picture of her and said she “looked hot.” He then proceeded to call her a derogatory name, according to the police report. The victim told Vieira that Andreozzi has contacted her by phone in the past, but she did not report those incidents. As part of the couple’s divorce decree, Andreozzi is not allowed to contact his ex-wife. Johnston Police first arrested Andreozzi on Feb. 18, 2011, for violating the no-contact order with his wife. Cops 2, Hit-And-Run Suspects 0

The Johnston Police Department recently made arrests in two hit-and-run cases.

Johnston Police this week reported the arrests of two hit-and-run suspects involved in separate incidents. Police charged Michelle A. Leonardo, 32, of Spring Street, with leaving the scene of an accident and driving without a license on Feb. 8 following an accident on Putnam Pike. Ptlm. Mark Bairos reported that he arrived at the scene of the accident on Feb. 6 at about 12:30 p.m. and spoke with Ann Hamill, who said that she had been slowing to take a left turn into the 44 Plaza when the car driven by Leonardo struck her car from behind. Hamill and a witness told Bairos that they saw Leonardo leave the scene of the accident and identified the color, type, and registration plates on Leonardo's car. Man Arrested Following Series Of High-Speed Chases

Johnston Police charged a Providence man after he reportedly fled from three separate officers.

Johnston Police charged Paul Bulgin, 26, of 30 Gelser St., Providence, with one count driving with a suspended license, one count of reckless driving, and three counts of eluding police, all felonies, on Feb. 4. Ptlm. Jared DeAngelis wrote in his report that on Feb. 3, he spotted a black 4-door Acura with an expired registration sticker stopped at the traffic light of Route 6 and Atwood Avenue. After checking the registration, DeAngelis learned the plates were last registered to a different car. The car continued south in the northbound lane of Atwood Avenue and went through the red light, DeAngelis reported. DeAngelis reported that he pursued the vehicle with his lights and sirens on at a speed of 50 mph in a 25-mph zone, but lost sight …

DUI Charge Following Accident: Johnston Police charged George E. Camera, 59, of 1 Cherry Hill Road, with one count of DUI, first offense on Feb. 1 after his car reportedly hit the side of the Walgreen's Pharmacy at 1583 Atwood Ave. Ptlm. Matthew Leveillee wrote in his report that he and two other officers responded to the scene with fire and rescue personnel at about 7:45 p.m. and met with the store owner, Lester Miller. Miller told the officers that he had heard a loud noise from outside the building "which sounded to him like a vehicle had hit the building," Leveillee reported. The driver of the car, a 2003 Subaru, got out of the car and went inside the store, where the officers found him. Leveillee reported that Camera "was unsteady on …

Driving stolen vehicle, suspended license: Johnston Police charged Christoper Gardner, 44, of Providence, with a felony count of driving a vehicle without its owner's permission and two misdemeanor counts of larceny under $500 and driving with a suspended license on Jan. 13 after the owner of the truck reported the theft. Ptlm. Michael Protano reported that the owner, who lives in Johnston, called the department and said that Gardner left a work site in the owner's truck without his permission, and was later involved in an accident. The truck's owner reportedly went to Gardner's house, where he found the pick-up truck, and told Protano that the truck had been heavily damaged. Domestic Vandalism Arrest: Johnston Police arrested Eric A. Stabile, 60, of 1 Flat St., Cumberland, on two charges of domestic vandalism/malicious injury to property on Dec. 12. The Johnston Police Department received a call reporting vandalism at 36 Spring Drive on Nov. 11 around noontime. Ptlm. John DeAngelis responded to the scene and spoke with the victim, who stated that a person poured sand or dirt into the gas tanks of both of his vehicles while they were parked in the driveway. He said the car alarm woke him at around 2 a.m. that morning. He looked out and didn’t see anything so he deactivated the alarm, according to DeAngelis’ report. Simple Assault at Stop & Shop: Johnston Police arrested Alaina Bonafiglia, 26, of 56 Walnut St., Johnston, on a charge of simple assault and battery. Sgt. Dennis Peacock and Ptlm. Mario Mennella Jr. responded to a call of an assault that took place at Stop & Shop on Dec. 1 around 5:30 p.m. The victim told Mennella that she was shopping in the store when she saw Bonafiglia with family members in the store. The victim and Bonafiglia “have had issues in the past,” according to Mennella’s report. The victim thought Bonafiglia was following her so she wanted to leave before something happened. The victim paid for her items, and Bonafiglia reportedly approached her as she left the store. Bonafiglia allegedly yelled obscenities at the victim and …
