Members of the Rhode Island State Police Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested a Johnston man Tuesday on an active warrant issued by Providence Superior Court. Vincent Ricci, 34, of 47 Morgan Ave., failed to appear at a Nov. 19 payment review hearing stemming from his 2008 plea of no contest to a felony charge of obtaining money under false pretenses brought by officers from the Rhode Island State Police Lincoln Woods Barracks, according to online court records. Three felony counts of credit card fraud and one charge each of identity fraud and larceny were dismissed, and Judge Mark Pfeiffer sentenced Ricci to a five-year suspended sentence and 10 years' probation as part of the plea deal. State troopers arrested the Johnston man following a traffic stop in Providence.
Rhode Island State Police from the Scituate Barracks reported the arrest of a Johnston man, who is awaiting two trials on felony charges, on an active court warrant in an unrelated case on Monday. Troopers stopped the car driven by Cristobal Rincon, 33, of 164 Borden Ave., just before 1 am Monday morning, Oct. 1, on Valley Street in Providence, and found the warrant issued by Third District Court for failing to appear at a payment review on a charge of driving with a suspended license brought by Johnston Police. Rincon pleaded no contest to the charge in October, 2011, and currently has $227 in fines to pay, according to online court records.
