Rita Maron is the choral and dramatic arts director at St. Philip School, which hosted a talent show featuring 12 of Johnston's young residents.
Rita Maron is the choral and dramatic arts director at St. Philip School in Greenville, Rhode Island. Last Sunday, Jan. 30, the school put on its first ever “St. Philip’s Got Talent!” show as a fundraiser for the St. Philip parish youth mission students’ trip to Nicaragua. The mission is affiliated with Mustard Seed International and will serve disabled children aged 2-18. Maron said her personal belief in giving students an outlet for artistic expression, through many mediums that fall categorically under dance, theatre, and music was a principle factor leading to the genesis of this show. A group of local youth showcase their talents at St. Philip's Got Talent show in Greenville on Jan. 30.
St. Philip School in Greenville held its first annual “St. Philip’s Got Talent” show on Sunday, Jan. 30. Organized and directed by Rita Maron, the dramatic arts and choral instructor at the school, the event also served as a fundraiser for the St. Philip's mission students’ trip to Nicaragua. This nine-student mission is a youth ministry organization affiliated with Mustard Seed International, and will serve at an orphanage for disabled children ages 2-18. Entertainment throughout the evening was as various as it was surprising, from young children with powerfully developed voices; incredibly choreographed dance routines; solo piano performances that commanded respect for their precision and emotionality; and even a few light-hearted jokes…
