Johnston Man Pleads Not Guilty to Child Porn Charges

State police arrested Nicholas Pislowski last year after an undercover online investigation.

A Johnston man who has pleaded not guilty to child pornography charges, the Providence Journal reported. The former Johnston School Department employee allegedly had more than 900 videos and 1,600 child pornography photos. Nicholas Pislowski, 23, of 72 Harding Ave., Johnston, is one of eight suspects arrested on child pornography charges. He is charged with felony possession and transfer of child pornography. Detectives from the State Police' Internet Crimes Against Children Division conducted an "undercover online investigation" beginning in Deecmber 2011, during which they logged into the online sharing sites anonymously and found that "certain Internet Protocol addresses were actively viewing images of child pornography, as well as …

State Police Add Patrols Through Jan. 1

They will be stepping up enforcement for speeding, driving while impaired, aggressive driving, texting violations, seat belt, and child restraint violations.

Rhode Island State Police Colonel Steven G. O’Donnell announced today that during the upcoming New Year’s holiday, the Rhode Island State Police will have additional patrols throughout the state. The force will be stepping up enforcement for speeding, driving while impaired, aggressive driving, texting violations, seat belt and child restraint violations. These patrols are in addition to regular patrols and are targeting impaired and reckless operators. Police Log: May 15 to May 19

This is a summary of reports provided to JohnstonPatch by the Johnston Police Department and found on the RI State Police website for May 15 to May 19, 2011.

Accident with injuries: Johnston Patrolman Michael G. Edwards, along with Sgt. Boulet and Patrolmen Parascondolo and McGinn, responded to a motor vehicle accident with injuries around 5:30 p.m. on May 15. The accident occurred at 2842 Hartford Ave. in the left east bound travel lane. Anthony J. Macera, of 20 Lady Slipper Lane, Scituate, was driving a 2003 Toyota 4- Runner and was at a complete stop waiting to make a left turn when his 4-Runner was struck from behind, according to the police report. Christopher M. McMahon, of 87 Freeman St., Warwick, was driving a 1993 Honda Civic east bond in the left travel lane. McMahon told Edwards that he didn’t see the 4-Runner stopped ahead of him.
