Police Looking for Armed Robber

Johnston Police are looking for the public's help identifying this man, who robbed the Petroil gas station on Plainfield Pike.

Johnston Police are looking for a man who they say robbed the Petroil gas station on Plainfield Pike on Jan. 19. According to police, the man is described as standing about five feet, 10 inches tall and was wearing a dark bomber style leather jacket and a greenish winter hat with fur on the inside.  The man is likely in his 20s and had a slim build with a slight mustache. Police said the man is believed to have fled the scene in an older gold Toyota Camry with a moon roof. If you have any information, call Johnston Police at 401-231-8100.

Suspect Wanted in Five Armed Robberies Caught in Boston

The 20-year-old man caught on camera at CT Plus and Best Car Rental was also wanted for three other Columbus Day weekend robberies in Woonsocket.

The suspect in a string of armed robberies over Columbus Day weekend was caught last night in Boston, MA. David Lamont Johnson, 20, with a last known address in Trenton, SC, was caught on store security cameras in footage released from Best Car Rentals in Johnston and the CT Plus Convenience Store on Hamlet Avenue in Woonsocket. Both incidents involved violent altercations with the store owners in which Johnson ultimately escaped, but without the money he allegedly demanded. The two Rhode Island law enforcement agencies released footage from the robberies around the same time on Tuesday, unaware they were seeking the same suspect. According to sources at the Woonsocket Police Department, however, CT Plus was only one of the four city …
