Mother's Day is just two weeks away, which means it's time to start brainstorming that perfect way to say "Thanks, Mom."
A homemade card or a new necklace are sure to delight Mom on Mother's Day [it's on May 13, by the way] but so, too, will a nice meal at a local restaurant. Over the past several weeks, JohnstonPatch has been surveying our readers for their favorite local businesses — whether it's the best tax preparer (David Lucier CPA took the title) or the best place for sporting goods (given to 2nd Time Around Sports in Cranston), your votes are helping to determine our Readers' Choice winners. The Cranston reseller of sports gear took top honors in this week's Readers' Choice poll.
Our readers have spoken — and 2nd Time Around Sports, just over the town line in Cranston, is this week's Readers' Choice winner for favorite place to buy sporting goods. Many Johnston parents bring their kids to get them geared up for whatever sport they play at the Atwood Avenue shop, which sells new and used sporting equipment for baseball, hockey, soccer, golf, and winter sports.
