Cranston's Olivia Culpo Crowned Miss Universe

Olivia Culpo, who is from Cranston, represented Rhode Island in the Miss USA pageant in June and now conquers the world.

Cranston's own Olivia Culpo has another crown to put next to her Miss USA crown: Miss Universe. Culpo, who won the Miss USA title in June, is a Cranston native. She's the first USA woman to win the title since 1997, beating 88 other contestants from around the world at the pageant in Las Vegas. "It's a dream," she said the moment she won.
