Police Log: Jan. 18 to 19

This is a summary of reports provided to JohnstonPatch by the Johnston Police Department for Jan. 18 to Jan. 19, 2012. Where an arrest is reported, it does not indicate a conviction.

Third Violation of a No Contact Order: Johnston Police charged Joseph A. Rossi, 22, of Providence, with felony violation of a no-contact order on Jan. 19. Ptlmn. Ryan Lemieux, Joseph Scichilone Jr., and Derrick Palazzo responded to a call to remove a person from the Part II Lounge at 928 Plainfield St. around 12:30 a.m. on Jan. 19. When they arrived, the officers spoke with a woman who was the complainant in an earlier no-contact order against Rossi. The woman told police she had seen Rossi at a nearby friend's house, then left the house and went to the bar. According to police reports, the woman said that Rossi followed her to the bar and tried to speak with her. She then called the police department. The complainant reportedly did not …

Police Log: Sept. 30 to Oct. 3

Violation of No Contact Order: Johnston Police arrested John D. Iannone, of 7 A Amana Dr., on a charge of violation of protective order. Ptlm. Joseph Salvadore responded to 24 Sprague Circle, where the victim stated that Iannone, her ex-boyfriend, allegedly contacted her on Sept. 29 and numerous times before that. The no-contact order stemmed from Iannone's arrest in January for making crank phone calls to the victim, according to Salvadore’s report. Iannone was arraigned at police headquarters on Oct. 1 and released on $1,000 personal recognizance until a scheduled Oct. 12 hearing in Third District Court. Police Log: Aug. 10 to Aug. 12

Stealing from National Grid construction site: Johnston Police arrested Kevin A. Baptista and Brian P. Silva, both of East Providence, on charges of larceny over $500 and conspiracy. On Aug. 10, police received a call from a person witnessing two men loading steel beams into a Ford Ranger at the National Grid construction site. The witness described both the men and the direction they traveled after leaving the site. A worker at the construction site informed Ptlm. Troy Maddocks that the beams were support arms with an estimated cost of $1,500 each. The worker also told Maddocks that three of the support arms were missing, according to Maddocks’ report. Stolen Trailer: Johnston Police Patrolman Mark A. Bairos responded to a call reporting a stolen trailer from 275 Scituate Ave. on August 1. The owner of Libra Transportation Co. stated the suspects removed the trailer from the property between 11 a.m. on July 31 and 8 a.m. on Aug. 1. "Libra Transportation" is printed on both sides of the white enclosed trailer with Maine registration 1479412. The trailer was empty at the time it was stolen, according to the police report. Anonymous call leads to arrest: An anonymous caller contacted the Johnston Police Department and reported that Sheila Craven was staying at 65 Shore Drive, Johnston on Aug. 3. The caller stated the person living at the residence has a no-contact order against Craven, but …
