A North Providence man turned himself in at the Johnston Police Department on Mar. 31 after police say he drove through red lights without stopping and exceeded the posted speed limit by 25 miles per hour during an early morning chase that day, according to police reports. Anthony C. Furia, 20, of 242 Waterman Ave., North Providence, faces misdemeanor charges of driving with a suspended license and reckless driving. On Mar. 31, Johnston Police dispatch personnel received a call around 5:45 a.m. for a disturbance at 3 Indian Drive. False prescription arrest: Johnston Police charged Thomas Kimberley, 40, of 3 Celebration Way, with felony counts of using a fake prescription to obtain drugs and conspiracy to violate the controlled substance act on Jan. 5 following an investigation into false prescriptions being used at the CVS pharmacy at 1400 Hartford Ave. Ptlm. Mario Mennella reported that he went to the CVS on Dec. 16 to investigate a report of fake prescriptions. In the course of his investigation, Mennella said he learned that Kimberley had allegedly submitted 11 prescriptions for hydrocodone (Vicodin) over the course of the year.
