RIRRC to Hold Eco-Depot This Saturday

RI Residents are urged to make an appointment and dispose of any hazardous materials they may have at home.

  The Rhode Island Resource Recovery Corporation (RIRRC) will host a special waste collection on site at the Central Landfill (65 Shun Pike) on Saturday, March 2 from 9 a.m. until noon. The free collection will allow Rhode Island residents to dispose of their household hazardous waste in a safe manner. Household hazardous waste is collected separately from the state’s Central Landfill in order to protect humans, animals and the local environment. These are products that have warning labels indicating they are dangerous to human health because they are flammable, caustic, combustible or toxic. Common household hazardous waste items include fluorescent light bulbs, oil-based paint, mercury thermometers, used motor oil, gasoline, antifreeze, …

Don’t Create X-Men, Dispose of Hazardous Waste

The Rhode Island Resource Recovery Corporation will host two eco-depot collections in January in Johnston.

The Rhode Island Resource Recovery Corporation will host two special waste collections on site at the Central Landfill during the first month of 2013. These free Eco-Depot collections will be held from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Jan. 5 and Saturday, Jan. 12. Rhode Islanders are encouraged to attend the collection at the Central Landfill at 65 Shun Pike in Johnston, where RIRRC officials will accept and dispose of their household hazardous waste. Next 'Eco-Depot' Saturday at Landfill

Rhode Island Resource Recovery Corporation has scheduled a household hazardous waste (HHW) collection from 8 am to noon on July 14.

  Have you been cleaning out the garage or basement and wondering what to do with those bottles used of motor oil, old cans of paint, and other stuff? Rhode Island Resource Recovery is scheduled to host its next Eco-Depot Collection drive on Saturday from 8 am to 12 noon to collect household hazardous waste (HHW) at the Central Landfill on Shun Pike in Johnston. “We’ve held more than 20 successful collections so far this year,” Joe Rotella, Special Waste Manager for RIRRC, said in a statement. “Eco-Depot collections provide residents the opportunity to safely rid their homes, garages and basements of any household hazardous waste. We encourage residents to keep up the good work and take advantage of this nearby collection in Johnston.” …
