The suspect in a Sept. 28 car-ramming incident appeared for arraignment last Friday, and has been released on personal recognizance, according to online court records. Johnston Police had sought Jessica Collins, 31, of North Providence, on charges of one count of domestic assault and two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, all felonies, after her ex-husband reported that Collins tried to hit him with her vehicle, then drove into the car driven by his girlfriend's mother. Collins fled the scene following the incident, according to police reports. Officers located her Dodge Caravan in Providence two days later, but were not able to find her. David Rossi, 29, faces felony charges after his fourth domestic violence arrest since January, 2011.
A Johnston man remains held without bail following his fourth arrest on domestic violence charges. Johnston Police reported that officers took custody of David Rossi, 29, of 15 South Fairview St., from Smithfield Police on Oct. 5 at about 7 am after the local department issued a warrant for his arrest. According to Smithfield Police Capt. Michael Rheaume, an officer in that town pulled over Rossi's car at about 2 am after recording it traveling 52 mph in a 35-mph zone on Pleasant View Avenue, near the Smithfield Police Department. Johnston Police have issued a warrant for the arrest of a North Providence woman suspected of driving her vehicle into another car and damaging a mailbox at Metro Collision Center on Putnam Pike. Jessica Collins, 31, of North Providence, is being sought by police after her ex-husband reported on Sept. 28 that Collins had tried to hit him with her Dodge Caravan before striking the car driven by his girlfriend's mother. The Johnston Police K-9 unit assisted in the arrest of a 16-year-old male suspected of assaulting a Falmouth Street resident and trying to break into the home later the same day. Ptlm. Matthew Leveille reported on Sept. 9 that he went to Enfield Street at about 9 pm after a witness told police about a woman "screaming and yelling" in the area. Leveille spoke with the 19-year-old, who said her 16-year-old boyfriend had assaulted her a short time earlier. A Johnston man was ordered held at the ACI following his arrest on a felony assault charge on June 17.
Johnston Police reported this week that they arrested a local man on domestic assault charges, leading the state Attorney General's office to charge him as a probation violator. Lennard Johnson, 28, of 20 Park St., Apt. 130, was serving a four-year suspended sentence and four years' probation for two previous convictions on June 17, when officers responded to the corner of Park Street and Atwood Avenue to investigate a report of a disturbance. Johnston Police charged a Simmonsville Avenue resident with multiple domestic violence charges after he allegedly assaulted his ex-girlfriend.
Johnston Police charged David Law, 26, of 345 Simmonsville Ave., with felony domestic assault, misdemeanor domestic disorderly conduct, and driving with a suspended or expired license after he was arrested by Rhode Island State Police on Feb. 24. According to police records, Law allegedly assaulted his ex-girlfriend while she was driving him to his cousin’s house on Feb. 10. The victim told Ptlm.
