Panthers: Okay, so technically, the Johnston High School varsity baseball team's second straight Division II state title happened on June 14, but the Air Show was last weekend. Plus, we couldn't help celebrating the victory on Monday with an encore posting of the video from Game 2 of the state finals against Prout, where the Panthers wrapped up the championship. Landfill: Unpleasant odors led to unpleasant memories of last summer for folks living in towns near the Central Landfill. On a positive note, though, two bills aimed at preventing future stench problems — and sponsored by Johnston Rep. Stephen Ucci — passed the General Assembly.
