Construction crews were busy installing a new sewer line along Central Avenue near the I-295 overpass, closing the road to travel from Atwood Avenue to Reservoir Avenue, as part of a $4 million project funded by Rhode Island Resource Recovery Corporation. Lincoln Chafee, and crews have been steadily working their way east on Central Avenue. On Friday morning, backhoes were in action, covering one part of the roadway with dirt prior to paving and digging a trench in another area for installation of the sewer line.
