Nearly 10 months to the day since the former Newport Creamery closed at 1410 Atwood Ave., a new gas station opened at the site on Wednesday morning.
Completing a process that began last spring, Mayor Joseph Polisena, local officials, and representatives of Stop & Shop formally marked the opening of a new gas station at 1410 Atwood Ave. on Wednesday morning.
