Recent incidents and arrests reported by Johnston Police.
The following arrest and incident reports were provided by Johnston Police. They do not indicate convictions. MARIJUANA A 25-year-old Johnston man was charged with marijuana possession Dec. 28 after a routine traffic stop sparked by an officer noticing his passenger wasn’t wearing a seat belt. According to police, Richard A. Naud, of 26 Victor Ave., was stopped while driving his Ford Mustang because his passenger was unbuckled. The officer reportedly smelled marijuana when he approached the vehicle. A check of Naud’s information showed he was wanted on an active Superior Court bench warrant for failing to appear on a drug possession charge. Naud was asked to exit his vehicle. Joseph Barone turned himself in at the police station on Nov. 5, according to police reports.
A local man faces one felony count of attempted breaking and entering following his surrender to Johnston Police on Nov. 5. Joseph M. Barone, 19, of 7 Hilton St., had been sought in a Sept. 17 incident on Rollingwood Drive, where officers found that two screen windows had been removed from the home. Further investigation by Det. Raymond Peters determined that fingerprints at the scene matched Barone's, and the department later issued an arrest warrant. Officers presented Barone for arraignment in Third District Court, Warwick, on Nov. 5. He was also presented as a probation violator, since he was serving one years' probation on a charge of leaving the scene of an accident brought by Warwick Police.

The Rhode Island State Police posted the following arrests online. Where an arrest is noted, it does not indicate a conviction.
Troopers from the Rhode Island State Police arrested two Johnston men in separate cases, one for a parole violation and the other on an active court warrant. On Sept. 14 at about 6:15 pm, officers arrested Joshua Solano, 19, of 45 George Waterman Rd., on a warrant issued by Rhode Island Family Court for failure to appear for a hearing. According to the State Police press release website, troopers stopped Solano's vehicle on I-95 in Warwick. Officers brought Solano to the Wickford Barracks for processing, then transported him to the Adult Correctional Institutions, Cranston. State Police also reported the arrest on Oct. 12 of Emmanuel Ramos, 27, of 9.5 Harbourd St., on charges of resisting arrest and violating terms of probation set Oct. …

Scott Bolton, 30, had been ordered to leave a home on Greenville Avenue after the homeowner called police.
After being advised to leave a Greenville Avenue home, a Johnston man swore at a police officer, drawing a disorderly conduct charge, Johnston Police reported this week. Ptlm. Adam Parkinson reported that he found Scott Bolton, 30, at the home just past midnight on Sept. 24 after the homeowner called police and said that Bolton had been "banging on the windows and doors." When he and three other officers arrived at the scene, Parkinson wrote, Bolton tried to hide behind a boat in the driveway. Bolton appeared to be trying "to conceal his hands in his pockets and acting [in a] very fidgety manner," leading officers to frisk him for possible weapons, Parkinson noted.
