Monday Essentials: Christmas Carol Auditions, Library Crafts

Monday: Could you be the next Ebenezer Scrooge [or the Ghost of Christmas Past]? Prepare a one-minute reading and head over to the Artists' Exchange in Cranston for auditions for A Christmas Carol from 6 to 9 p.m. Also scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 17. Callbacks Sept. 26.

Tuesday: See how the six finalists perform on America's Got Talent at 9 p.m. on NBC. They'll take the stage at Radio City Music Hall.

Wednesday: Marian J. Mohr Library hosts button art at 2:30 p.m. Make a new piece of your own, or follow a pattern. Free.

Also Wednesday, Ray Rickman hosts a workshop on the value of books starting at 6:30 p.m. Bring an old tome and see what it's worth.

Thursday: Another interesting craft using everyday items at Mohr Library: clothespin magnets at 2:30 p.m. led by Miss Michelle.

Friday: Take the cruise to the scenic Shelalara Vineyards and Winery in Coventry and support the Literacy Volunteers of Kent County with their Wine Tasting Fundraiser set to start at 6 p.m. $25 in advance, $30 at the door. Call Kathy Gray at (401) 822-9103 for more details.
