The Johnston Grays had another game against a tough team July 9, this time on their home turf at .
The Grays — one of two Johnston teams in the Rhode Island Amateur Baseball League — played the Pawtucket Bombers (9-7), who previously defeated the Grays on May 22.
The Bombers scored two quick runs to lead off the game, and the Grays (2-15) responded in the bottom of the second on a Nathan Camara 2-run homer to tie the score at 2-2.
In the fifth, the Grays got as close as 5-4 before the Bombers cranked up their offense — including two home runs by J.C. MacDonald, one of the league's top 10 HR hitters — to take the lead 9-4 and eventually tack on nine more en route to the 18-5 win.
The next game for the Grays is scheduled for July 16 against the East Providence Knights at Providence Country Day School in East Providence.
