Great Escape: 3 Doors Down, A Derby, And Dance
Enjoy some great music this weekend, experience the fast pace of the Providence Roller Derby or check out a Firstworks multimedia dance production.
Music:
- Bar 101 on Atwood Avenue will be celebrating its 2nd Anniversary on 11/11/11 with a party featuring food, music and dancing. The fun begins at 6 p.m. with Kevin Herchen, followed by a performance by Something Else at 9 p.m. If you can't make the celebration, The Hype will perform on Nov. 12 at 9:30 p.m.
- Tijuana Bibles will take the stage at Ball’s Sports Bar and Grille on Putnam Pike on Nov. 11 followed by a performance by Decoda on Nov. 12. Live music begins at 9:30 p.m. on both nights.
- 3 Doors Down and the Time of My Life Tour will make a stop at PPAC on Nov. 12. The show also features special guests Theory of a Dead Man and Pop Evil. For show times and ticket availability visit: PPAC.
- The Met, Hope Artiste Village, Pawtucket, has three shows this weekend: State Of Corruption at 8 p.m. on Nov. 11 and Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue at 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Nov. 12. Check out The Met’s website for more show and ticket information.
Theater and Dance:
- This weekend Brown University presents its production of Oscar Wilde’s Lady Windermere's Fan, directed by Brown Professor Lowry Mars. Performances take place on Nov. 10 through Nov. 13 in the Stuart Theatre. For more about this performance and ticket information visit: Brown University Theatre.
- Enjoy a multimedia dance performance by Lostwax, one of Rhode Island’s premiere dance companies, called Seven Veils this weekend. Performances begin on Nov. 10 and run until Nov. 13 at Perishable Theatre in Providence. For tickets and more information visit: Seven Veils.

- Check out the Providence Roller Derby on Nov. 12 at the Rhode Island Convention Center. It’s The Mob Squad vs. The Rats. Doors open at 6 p.m. The “bout “ begins at 7 p.m. For tickets visit: Roller Derby.
- If you rather watch some traditional skating the Providence Bruins take on the Manchester Monarchs on Nov. 11 at The Dunk. Right now the P Bruins are offering "$5 off Fridays" and this Friday’s game is “Kids T-shirt Night.” There is also a Providence Bruins Alumni Game this weekend on Nov. 13.
