Grab & Go — Great Places To Take The Kids

JohnstonPatch has your list of events and activities for the little ones.

Boys (and Girls) Of Summer: The Johnston Little League season officially kicks off on April 16 with Opening Day ceremonies and festivities at Johnston Memorial Park. The Return Of Drop-In Crafts: Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., the new Marian J. Mohr Library hosts drop-in crafts for the first time. Check out the place and have some fun creating something. Not recommended for kids under 3 years of age.

Relay For Life Kick-off: Bar 101 is the site for the kick-off of the 2011 Relay for Life to benefit the American Cancer Society. The Relay is scheduled for June 3 and 4; admission to the Kick-off is $5 at the door.

Easter Egg Hunt: Graniteville Baptist Church hosts its Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday at 11:45 a.m. following Palm Sunday service. Donations of candy-filled eggs are appreciated — especially if they're filled with mini Reese's cups (my favorite).

Indoor Triathlon: After all that eating and candy, you may need a serious workout — and the Cranston YMCA has just the thing: an Indoor Triathlon, scheduled for Sunday at 3 p.m. Competitors swim, bike, and run for 20 minutes each; highest total distance (as measured in yards) wins the contest.
