[VIDEO] School Food Service Reps Visit Pezza Farm in Johnston

The local family-owned farm is growing some 15 acres of produce for use in school lunches in Rhode Island, including the Cranston and Woonsocket districts.

 

Students in several school districts around Rhode Island, including nearby Cranston, will be seeing locally-grown vegetables on their school lunch menus, thanks to of Johnston, which hosted a tour for employees of Sodexo School Services on Aug. 21.

Sodexo staffers took a hay ride tour of the farm, including the 15 or so acres that have been reserved for the company's school lunch programs.
