Photo Gallery: Johnston High School Science Fair

Nearly 150 projects were entered into the school's 2011 Science Fair.

Johnston High School held its annual science fair on Feb. 16, and there was no shortage of interesting entries.

Projects ran the scientific gamut, with topics in biology, chemistry, the environment, and many others.

There was also a crime scene set up by members of the forensic studies class.

Out of the approximately 150 entries, 6 were awarded Best in Show:

  • Tessa Centracchio for "How Sweet it is, Glucose in Juice."
  • Alyssa Zanella for "Does the Amount of Acid Vary Amongst Different Types of Vinegar?"
  • Nicole Kulczyk for "'C' the Product."
  • Lauren Barnes for "EGGcellent Packing."
  • Alia Sasa for "How Does Acid Rain Affect Plant Life?" Sasa also won the award for Best Background.
  • James Rotondo for "Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Yellow Dye #5 in M & M's."
