Johnston School Team Headed to National Championship

The Johnston High School Academic Decathlon team is heading to nationals for the first time!

The Johnston High School Academic Decathlon teams are headed to compete in nationals for the first time, reports the Johnston Sunrise. 

The Johnston teams will join the Bishop Hendricken High School at the national competition, which takes place April 25-27 in Minneapolis, MN. 

The high school team must also raise $8,000 for travel expenses, according to the Johnston Sunrise.

The teams have spent years battling for a seat at nationals. This year, judges are allowing first and second place teams in Rhode Island to compete.
