Johnston High School Principal to Retire

This will be Gerald Foley's final year at Johnston HIgh School.

 

Johnston High School Principal Gerald Foley is set to retire at the end of this academic year, according to the Johnston Sunrise.

The Johnston School Committee accepted Foley's resignation earlier this month, effective June 30. During the committee meeting, Superintendent Dr. Bernard Di Lullo praised Foley for his work at JHS.

"You’ll find Gerry [Foley] at all of the school events and athletic activities," said Di Lullo. "He’s always out there taking pictures and formulating relationships with the students."

Come July, Assistant Principal Zachary Farrell, 33, will take over the reins as principal of Johnston High School. Farrell is a Johnston resident and graduate of the University of Rhode Island and Providence College.

Foley has been principal of JHS since September 2010 following 21 years as the principal of North Kingstown High School.
