Video: Johnston High School Celebrates Homecoming [Poll]

A parade and football game were part of the annual celebration, held Oct. 15.

On Oct. 15, dozens of people lined Atwood Avenue to catch a glimpse of the annual homecoming parade, which kicked off at 10 a.m. and proceeded from the high school down Atwood Avenue, onto Hartford Avenue, through Johnston Memorial Park and back to the high school.  

The parade featured the formal unveiling of the floats built by each of the four classes at JHS.

At 1:30, the Panthers hosted the Chariho Chargers for the traditional Homecoming game. Though the Panthers put up a tough fight, Chariho prevailed, 20-6.

During halftime festivities, the member of the school's were acknowledged, and the Rhode Island Blood Center honoted the high school for last year, raising more than 450 pints.

Of course, Homecoming would not be complete without crowning the Homecoming king and queen, who this year are Randy Daquila and Danielle Gaulik.
