Readers' Choice, Best Park: Johnston Memorial Park, Hartford Avenue

The town's central park was the top vote-getter in this week's poll.

In honor of the start of spring, we asked readers for their — and with the votes tallied, earned top honors in our Readers' Choice poll.

First dedicated on Memorial Day, 1946, the 28-acre park includes baseball and softball fields; a performance stage; tennis, basketball and bocce courts; a memorial garden; and a walking path surrounding Pocasset Pond.

Recently, a toddler playground and new set of swings, as well as a veterans memorial pavilion located in the center of the park, have been added.
