Weather Service Issues Snow Forecast

Less than an inch of snow accumulation is expected from Wednesday afternoon through Thursday morning.

We almost made it through February without seeing any more snow, but most parts of Rhode Island may see a dusting and some poor road conditions as we head into the middle of this week.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for Rhode Island that will be in effect until 6 p.m. on March 1.

Wednesday's forecast calls for rain and snow likely before 3 p.m., turning to snow toward nightfall. An inch or two of snow is predicted for the Johnston area, but rain, snow and sleet expected to arrive before 4 a.m. Thursday may cause slick roads, making morning commutes difficult.

So don't break out the snow shovels just yet — but do plan on giving yourself a little extra time getting to and from work on Wednesday and Thursday.
