Video: Grand Opening Of The New Mohr Library

Clips from the April 9 ceremony after the new building was formally opened to the public.

On April 9, nearly 500 people attended the grand opening ceremonies for the new home of , at Atwood and Memorial Avenues.

The accompanying video shows Mayor Joseph M. Polisena unveiling the commemorative plaque marking the date of the building's opening.

Members of the Greene and Fargnoli families are also shown formally dedicating two rooms of the libraries — the Young Adult Room to Andrew Greene, an active youth patron of the library before he passed away in 2007 at the age of 13, and the Children's Library to Michael Fargnoli, the town electrician who died following an accident in the town's Department of Public Works garage in December, 2010.

In the final clip, local, state, and federal officials cut two cakes made for the occasion, one celebrating "50 Golden Years" of the original Mohr Library, and the other celebrating the new facility.
