RIDOT Lists Traffic, Construction Schedule

The state Department of Transportation posts its weekly list of projects and traffic pattern changes scheduled through Friday, July 8.

Special Traffic Pattern For July 4:

A special traffic pattern will be in place around India Point Park on July 4 from 6 p.m. to 12 a.m. for the Fourth of July celebration. South Main St. and India St. will be one way heading south from Point St. under the Providence River Bridge and following east to the Wyndham Hotel.

Also, I-195 EB at Exit 2 (Gano St.), exit closed for Fourth of July celebration at India Point Park, July 4 from 7-11 p.m.

Hartford Avenue:

Johnston: Rte. 6A EB & WB (Hartford Ave.), from the I-295 interchange to Atwood Ave., right lane closed for curbing and sidewalk work, Tuesday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Rte. 116:

Smithfield: Rte. 116 NB & SB (Pleasant View Ave.), from Rte. 44 (Putnam Pike) to Rte. 104 (Farnum Pike), right lane closed for curbing and sidewalk work, Tuesday-Thursday, 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Rte. 146:

Rte. 146 NB and SB, from just south of Sherman Ave. to Rte. 116 (George Washington Highway), exit closures for paving, Thursday from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Signed detours in place. Work will take place on the following exits:

  • Rte. 146 Service Rd. to Rte. 116 SB
  • Rte. 116 SB to Rte. 146 SB
  • Rte. 146 NB to Rte. 295

Road closures for paving, Tuesday and Wednesday from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Signed detours in place. Lane restrictions are as follows:

  • Tuesday: Rte. 146 NB lanes closed
  • Wednesday: Rte. 146 SB lanes closed
