RIDOT Lists Traffic, Construction Schedule

Local Roads:

Johnston: Rte. 5 NB & SB (Atwood Ave.), from Hartford Ave. to Rte. 6, right lane closed for construction, Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Lincoln: Rte. 146 NB & SB, from just south of Sherman Ave. to Rte. 116 (George  Washington Highway), highway closed for bridge construction, Wednesday from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Signed detour in place.

Smithfield: Rte. 116 NB & SB (George Washington Highway), from Farnum Pike to Appian Way, alternating shoulder closures for bridge inspection, Monday-Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Interstate 95:

Providence: I-95 NB, from Exit 15 (Jefferson Blvd.) to Exit 18 (Thurbers Ave.), alternating lane closures for bridge inspection, Thursday from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Pawtucket: I-95 NB & SB, from Exit 27 (Downtown) to Exit 28 (School St.), alternating lane closures for bridge construction, Monday-Thursday from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. The right lane will be closed at 9 p.m. and the middle lane will be closed at 11 p.m. All lanes will reopen at 5 a.m. Lane restrictions are as follows:

• Monday & Tuesday: I-95 NB
• Wednesday & Thursday: I-95 SB

Route 10:

Providence: The Union Avenue Bridge over Rte. 10 is closed until Spring 2012. Follow signed detours. RIPTA Bus # 18 offers free service during the bridge closure.
