The state department of transportation releases its 2011 guide to where to ride.

The Rhode Island Department of Transportation released the latest edition of its annual bike trail map on Sept. 24, which includes the 4.6-mile Fred Lippitt Woonasquatucket River Greenway that runs from Waterplace Park in Providence, behind , to Lyman Avenue in Johnston.

Called Guide to Cycling in the Ocean State 2011-2012, the publication outlines all of the routes that make up Rhode Island's eight major bike paths, and the more than 50 miles of off-road riding areas in the state.

In a press release, RIDOT Director Michael P. Lewis said: "RIDOT takes great pride in supporting the bicycling community and we’re hoping all cyclists will pick up a copy of the map to take with them on their next ride."
