OP-ED: State Budget Update

Deb Ramos, President of the North Central Chamber of Commerce, calls on members to oppose tax increases.

As you know, the participates in the RI Chamber of Commerce Coalition.  Through the Coalition, we are able to keep you aprised of state issues such as the current State Budget.  

We have been informed that we are in "the final stretch" now as the General Assembly moves toward approving a final budget and adjourning for the Summer by the beginning of July. Developments have moved very quickly in the last several days and will move even quicker this week and next.  

We, the small business owners and taxpayers of Rhode Island, need to keep sending a message -

"No new/increased/expanded taxes as a solution to the state's budget woes. Responsibly reduce the cost of government and reform the state/local retirement and benefit system."

What can you do now?  Send a message to your legislators!  It will take no more than ONE minute to email them - we have simplified the process for you.  It is very fast and very easy!  Together, we can be heard!
