News Brief: School Board OKs Extension To Aramark Contract

The committee tabled a scheduled vote on the bus contract at its June 14 meeting.

At its June 14 meeting, the Johnston School Committee approved an extension to the district's contract with Aramark Food Service through 2012.

Aramark Manager Jessica Patriola told the committee that the new pact would result in an estimated $5,000 surplus for Aramark. In May, Patriola announced that the contractor decided to absorb an estimated $18,000 deficit in the current year's budget.

The board tabled a decision on the district's bus contract until a special June 29 meeting.
