News Brief: Council Suspends Noise Ordinance For National Grid Project

The utility is granted a waiver to exceed the town's noise ordinance.

During its meeting on March 14, the Town Council approved a suspension of the town's noise ordinance for a project being done by National Grid near Interstate 295.

Representatives of the company requested the waiver because the drills required for the project — which includes installation of new, higher-capacity energy lines — exceed the town's existing noise limit.

The council approved the request by a 3-0 vote, with Councilors Eileen Fuoco (Dist. 1) and David Santilli (Dist. 3) absent.
