The National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Warning for Johnston and the rest of the state from about 9 p.m. tonight through 8 a.m. Thursday.

Strong southwest winds of 20 - 30 mph with gusts of 50 - 60 mph will move into the area later this evening. In addition to the wind, as much as an inch of rain is possible, and some localized flooding may occur. Temperatures will remain unseasonably warm, hovering in the low 50s tonight, though they are expected to drop into the low-40s on Thursday.
