Show Off Your House: Today is the final day of the Patch.com nationwide "Deck the House" contest, which offers up to $500 to help with the electric bill — and $100,000 to help local schools. If you've put it off until today, no problem — here's the info an contact rules.

Closed: are closed this week for winter break, which lasts until (and includes) Jan. 2. Town Hall and local department [except for police and fire] are closed today. Trash and recycling collection will be delayed one day this week, with Friday's collection moved to Saturday, Dec. 31. Later this week, Town Hall will be open for a half-day on Dec. 30, and closed Jan. 2.
