issued their report on an Oct. 22 on Killingly Street.
According to police, two men entered the Dunkin' Donuts at 602 Killingly Street through the drive-thru window just before 3 a.m. on Oct. 22. A female employee was standing behind the counter when she heard a noise and witnessed the first robber climbing through the window.
He reportedly grabbed her by the arm while a second suspect climbed through the window holding a crowbar. They asked her to show them where the safe was located. When the men attempted to open the safe, the employee ran to hide in the bathroom. After unsuccessful attempts to open the safe, the robbers then forced open the bathroom door.
A customer at the drive-thru interrupted the robbery and the robbers instructed the employee to serve the customer. The employee told Ptlm. Joseph Scichilone Jr. she did not indicate to the customer that the robbers were there because she was afraid they would hurt her. The robbers reportedly instructed the employee to empty the money from the register into a bag. Once they had the money, both of the robbers exited the store through the rear door.
The first male suspect is described as 5-ft.-10 with dark skin. He was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and a bandana covering his face.
The second suspect was described as 5-ft.-7 with light skin, possibly Hispanic, according to the police report. He wore a dark hooded sweatshirt with the word “SECURITY” written in white letters on the back.
Security camera footage shows the second suspect talking on a walkie-talkie or cell phone during the robbery.
