State Police Log: Exploitation of an Elder

A collection of various Johnston-related arrests and Grand Jury reports. The following information does not indicate a conviction.

 

Detective Bureau

  • On Thursday, Mar. 14, 2013, members of the Financial Crimes Unit arrested Domenic P. Ferrante, 62, of 10 Francis Ave., Johnston, for two counts each of larceny over $1,500 from a victim over 65 years of age, exploitation of an elder and access to computer for fraudulent purpose, as well as forgery and fraudulent checks. Ferrante was processed at State Police headquarters, arraigned before Justice of the Peace Stephen Peltier and released on $20,000 with surety.

  • At 10:20 a.m. on Mar. 25, troopers arrested Patrick Poland, 23 of 702 Central Ave., Johnston, for a Third District Court Bench Warrant for failure to appear on the original charge of driving on a suspended license originating out of Cranston Police Department. Poland was processed at headquarters then turned over to Third District Court for afternoon arraignment.
