Suspect Sought In Hygiene Product Theft

A worker at the CVS Pharmacy on Plainfield Street told police that a man took about $1,000 worth of Rogaine hair products, electric toothbrushes, and teeth whitening strips.

Stealing electric toothbrushes and Rogaine for Men could lead to a felony charge if the find the man who allegedly stole high-ticket hygiene items from CVS on Mar. 17.

A man wearing a Nike baseball hat, a navy long sleeve shirt, and light blue jeans entered the CVS Pharmacy at 1993 Plainfield St. around 10:42 p.m., according to Ptlm. Troy Maddocks' police report.

The man reportedly took a white gift bag and placed six Rogaine products, valued at about $300, into the bag. The alleged shoplifter then moved to the oral health section where he allegedly took five electric toothbrushes and two packages of whitening strips totaling about $660 in value, according to the police report.

An employee reportedly witnessed the man enter the store empty-handed and then leave about five minutes later holding the white gift bag filled with merchandise. The alarm sounded as the man left the store without paying for the items. He then ran to the parking lot and fled in a gray Mitsubishi Galant.

The employee described the shoplifter — who faces a felony shoplifting charge if caught — as a white male, between 30 and 40 years old, and clean shaven.
