RI State Police Report Johnston Drug Arrest

The following report was posted on the Rhode Island State Police website. Where an arrest is reported, it does not indicate a conviction.

Rhode Island State Police arrested a Johnston man on June 11 for drug possession and driving with a suspended license.

Robert E. Desimone Jr., 33, of 2 Brenda Drive, faces one count of possession of a Schedule III drug, Suboxone, which is used to treat opiate dependence;  possession of heroin; driving in possession of a controlled substance; and driving with a suspended license.

According to an entry on the Rhode Island State Police website, an officer pulled over Desimone's car on Atwood Avenue at 6:30 pm prior to his arrest.

State police officers brought Desimone to Scitiuate Barracks, where he was arraigned and released until a court hearing to be scheduled.

Online court records show that Desmone entered no contest pleas on three previous occasions, dating back to 2008, to charges of driving with a suspended license brought by North Providence, Providence, and .
