Troopers from the Rhode Island State Police arrested two Johnston men in separate cases, one for a parole violation and the other on an active court warrant.
On Sept. 14 at about 6:15 pm, officers arrested Joshua Solano, 19, of 45 George Waterman Rd., on a warrant issued by Rhode Island Family Court for failure to appear for a hearing.
According to the State Police press release website, troopers stopped Solano's vehicle on I-95 in Warwick.
Officers brought Solano to the Wickford Barracks for processing, then transported him to the Adult Correctional Institutions, Cranston.
State Police also reported the arrest on Oct. 12 of Emmanuel Ramos, 27, of 9.5 Harbourd St., on charges of resisting arrest and violating terms of probation set Oct. 18, 2011 on a felony charge of simple assault.
Ramos had leaded no contest to the assault charge last year, and Judge Susan McGuirl imposed a one year suspended sentence and one years' probation.
In the recent case, officers presented Ramos for arraignment on Oct. 12 in Sixth District Court, Providence, where he was ordered held without bail at the ACI until a pretrial hearing scheduled for Oct. 26.
