RI State Police Arrest Log: Johnston Man Nabbed on Two Court Warrants

Rhode Island State Police reported the Oct. 23 arrest of a Johnston man on two court warrants, both for failure to appear at court hearings on charges brought by the State Police.

Troopers arrested Richard Church, 44, of 666 Killingly St., at about 10:15 pm, following a traffic stop on Branch Avenue in Providence.

Online court records show that Church pleaded no contest on June 9, 2010, to one count of driving with a suspended license filed by troopers from the Lincoln Woods Barracks, and again on July 24, 2012, to another suspended license charge brought by troopers from the Hope Valley Barracks.

Church had been ordered to attend an ability to pay hearing on July 10 in the 2010 case, and another ability to pay hearing on Oct. 10 in Third District Court, Warwick on the July 24 case, but did not appear in either case, leading to the issuance of the warrants.

Troopers from the Scituate Barracks also arrested Church on July 2 on a third charge of driving with a suspended license, to which Church also pleaded no contest.

Church owes a total of $1,553.50 in the three cases.

State Police officers brought Church to Sixth District Court, Providence, following processing at the Lincoln Woods Barracks. No information on the court hearing had been posted online by publication of this article.
