RI State Police Arrest Log: Johnston Man Arrested Following Car Crash

State troopers arrested a Johnston man on an active court warrant on Oct. 6 after a car accident on Rte. 6.

 

Rhode Island State Police reported the Oct. 6 arrest of a Johnston man on an active court warrant following a car accident on Rte. 6.

David Barboza, 44, of 22 Waterman Ave., had been sought by North Providence Police on a felony charges of passing fraudulent checks over $1,000.

State Police reported that their officers responded to an accident at about 8:30 am on Saturday morning and found Barboza at the scene. Troopers brought Barboza to Rhode Island State Police Headquarters in Scituate for processing, then turned him over to North Providence Police, according to the State Police press release website.

A court hearing is scheduled for Dec. 7 on the North Providence charge.

Barboza is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 26 on an unrelated charge of driving with a suspended license charge brought by Johnston Police. He previously pleaded no contest to a similar charge in April.
