ProJo: Johnston Man Arrested on Drug Charges, Violating Probation

David Levy, 39, had been serving 11 years' probation after a 2002 conviction on felony cocaine possession.

 

A Johnston man serving probation on a 2002 drug conviction was arrested by Providence Police on Sept. 28, the Providence Journal reported.

According to online court records, David Levy, 39, pleaded no contest on May 9, 2002, to felony charges of cocaine possession with intent to deliver and marijuana possession.

Magistrate Joseph Keough sentenced Levy to 15 years in prison, with four to serve and 11 years suspended, and 11 years' probation.

In the recent arrest case, Providence Police found 13 oz. of cocaine, more than 50 Oxycodone pills, and about $1,200 in cash at two residences used by Levy, the Journal reported.
