Police Log: Oct. 7 to Oct. 10

Possession of marijuana:
arrested Saverio Montecalvo, 45, of 41 Beech St., Woonsocket, on a charge of possession of marijuana, first offense. Ptlm. Joseph Salvadore noticed a car parked in a wooded area along the side of the road while on patrol on Oct. 7. A man was sitting in the driver’s seat and as Salvadore pulled his cruiser next to the car, a woman’s head suddenly appeared from the passenger seat, according to Salvadore’s report. Montecalvo told Salvadore they were talking and relaxing. An odor of marijuana emanated from car. Montecalvo admitted there was marijuana in the back seat of the car. He was arrested and charged with possession. He was processed and released with aThird District Court date of Oct. 19.
